The KVGN as the linchpin of a rapidly changing market

The energy market is evolving rapidly. The free operation of market forces is a concept that is increasingly the focus of this development. As the market opens, consumers are given an array of alternatives from which to choose. The provision of superior service is an important concern in this respect, and lower prices are the result.

Have your say at the national and international level

The Koninklijke Vereniging van Gasfabrikanten [Royal Dutch Gas Association] positions itself emphatically at the centre of these new developments. Naturally, it does this by continuing to profile itself as an association which is home to individuals boasting extensive expertise. Yet it also draws members from other sectors of the market, as well as other institutions and organisations involved with energy. The KVGN board of management includes representatives of energycompanies at the highest levels.

KVGN’s role: extending expertise is central

The KVGN is dedicated to promoting the supply of gas in the Netherlands. The role played by gas on the playing field of the energy market is inevitably expanding. The KVGN wishes to exploit this changing situation and also increase the size of its own playing field. An initial step was taken in this direction three years ago when it was also decided to admit people outside the traditional energy sector as members. More than ever before, the association will be the platform of choice for people to enter into direct consultation with each other about the interesting developments in the gas sector. The KVGN will offer its members even more opportunities to contact other people on a personal level.

Our objective

‘To promote the interests involved in the supply of gas in the Netherlands in the broadest sense of the term by acting as an association of persons who seek to enhance their expertise and exchange their knowledge and experience with other members in the gas supply sector.’ This objective must be viewed broadly to include everything that is important to a business, such as its personnel and IT.

In order to achieve this objective, the KVGN arranges meetings where important topics are discussed, ones which are vital to our daily operations but also those which focus on the future. Gas is the most important issue in this connection, but significant attention will also be devoted to other sources of power.

In addition to this, the KVGN plays a major role in the development of gastechnology and represents Holland Gasland abroad.
