Gastechnische Opleidingen

Energy Delta Institute                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Energy Delta Institute (EDI) is an international energy business school in Groningen, the Netherlands, with a primary focus on natural gas. EDI was founded in 2003 by major international partners including N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, OAO Gazprom and the University of Groningen, later joined by Shell and RWE as founding partners. Associated partners include Essent, Electrabel, EBN and DONG Energy. As an institute of executive education, EDI offers a coherent and comprehensive package of training programmes that focus on the economic, management, technical  and geopolitical aspects of the energy business. Its primary goal is to empower current and future leaders through knowledge. EDI offers a portfolio of Executive Master Programmes and Master Classes about topics such as LNG, Underground Gas Storage, Gas Sales and Gas Transport & Shipping. Via its knowledge hub, EDI also initiates a wide variety of knowledge and information activities to enhance insight into the energy business. The activities include: Sharing research and research results, various publications (including ‘EDI Quarterly’), the Latest Energy News (daily) at www.energydelta.org, conferences, key events, seminars and round-table discussions. Again, with the primary purpose to share the Energy of Knowledge with leading energy businesses in the world and to empower energy businesses.

Doctoraal Gastechnologie

Global Gas Networks Initiative (GGNI)
GGNI is an initiative of the Dutch network companies Alliander, Enexis, Gasunie and Stedin, and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. GGNI aims to provide advice and assist companies, authorities and governments in answering questions and solving problems related to the transport, distribution, storage and application of natural gas.
GGNI will commission senior Dutch industry experts to conduct activities requested by our clients. GGNI also aims to offer traineeship to talented students and young graduates from the Netherlands and abroad, to secure future excellence in storing, transporting, distributing and applying natural gas. GGNI offers its clients solutions in which the knowledge and experience of senior Dutch industry experts is combined with exposure opportunities for talented students and young graduates.
GGNI has no commercial ambitions; its activities should contribute to knowledge transfer, help in identifying talent and strengthen natural gas relationships worldwide.

After the discovery of the Groningen field, the Netherlands achieved an international reputation for the development of gas networks and the application of natural gas and natural gas technology. Dutch expertise in modern techniques meant that the state-of-the-art was always applied in the natural gas industry. The knowledge and the skills that have been developed over the last 50 years are now in high demand.
Since the mid-1980s, Gasunie Engineering has offered consultancy and carried out engineering assignments around the world. Today it is proving difficult to follow up all requests with experts from its existing staff. Hence the Global Gas Network Initiative has been set up to increase the scope and mobilise senior gas experts who have retired. Countries that are currently seeking answers include Angola, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Lithuania, Rwanda and Russia. For more information see: www.ggni.nl .
